Moves needed to be made on Friday morning by the Toronto Maple Leafs when it was announced that forward Andreas Johnsson has been placed on long-term injured reserve.

The Leafs therefore proceeded to recall forwards Nic Petan and Pontus Aberg, along with defenseman Martin Marincin.

It was later revealed by team insider Kristen Shilton of TSN why two forwards were back with the team: captain John Tavares is away from the team for personal reasons.

Tavares was missing from practice this morning and his teammates found out he needed time for a personal matter.

This triggered fans to wonder what was wrong with Tavares (or his family) as last month, star goalie Marc-Andre Fleury stepped away from the Vegas Golden Knights to get to his father Andre in Montreal. Andre Fleury passed away at age 63 on Wednesday Nov. 20th.

We hope it is nothing serious for the Leafs’ captain and his entourage.
