There have been rumors of a possible trade between the Calgary Flames and Tampa Bay Lightning, and it appears that trade was made today.

The Flames have traded "future considerations" to obtain netminder Kevin Poulin from the Lightning on

A native of Montreal, the 25-year-old was drafted in the fifth round by the New York Islanders in 2008, playing 50 NHL games with a 89.9% save percentage and a GAA of 3.07, with a record of 18-25-3. Poulin spent most of last year in the AHL with Bridgeport and only played one game in the NHL last year.

He was claimed by the Lightning from waivers at the start of the season, but did not play for the Lightning, nor their AHL affiliate in Syracuse.

Poulin will report to the Stockton Heat of the American Hockey League.

It is unclear what the "future considerations" will be, but speculation suggest it will be a low-end draft pick.
