Team Canada gets worst punishment possible after loss to Denmark at men’s worlds!
It was quite the upset and this is what happened after. Read below:
Canada, captained by Sidney Crosby and loaded with top NHL talent, shockingly fell to Team Denmark of the world hockey championship quarterfinal and is now eliminated.
This is already bad enough, but it gets worse. On Friday, Team Canada had to fly back to Stockholm because they were so confident they were going to beat Denmark that they did not brings their bags, suitcases and personal items on the trip there and left them in Stockholm, Sweden. And so, not only they had to fly back there, but they did so on the same plane as the Danes, who probably weren’t done celebrating their accomplishment.
Canada rolled into the quarterfinals after finishing first in Group A, ending the preliminary round with an emphatic 5-3 win over co-host Sweden in Stockholm.
But it’s now over and they had to deal with the punishment of travelling with the Danes after the unexpected loss. I mean, they should have known better. They should not have taken Denmark lightly like that.
The Danes will face Switzerland, which routed Austria 6-0 on Thursday, in the semifinals on Saturday. The United States will take on Sweden in the other semifinal.
