Team Canada players roast each other ahead of World Juniors.
Poking some fun at their teammates.
The World Junior Championships are set to get underway for Team Canada, but before they officially hit the ice on Sunday they provided us with something of a belated Christmas present.
Before the tournament, perhaps in an effort to showcase some of the brighter personalities on the roster, Team Canada decided to put their players through something of an amusing exercise. The players on the roster were asked to call out a number of their teammates on a variety of different topics ranging from the quality of the tape on their gear, to the player most obsessed with his individual stats.
As you might expect this was a very tame affair and there were no players shamed or called out during the segment, but there were more than a few laughs as players poked some fun at their teammates and even on occasion at themselves as well.
Many of the players featured in this fun little segment are players you can expect to see playing at the National Hockey League level one day. Here are just a few examples of who you can expect to see in the video:
Winnipeg Jets first round pick (10th overall) in 2020 Cole Perfetti.
Connor Bedard, the projected #1 pick at the 2023 NHL Entry Draft at the time of this writing.
Shane Wright, the projected #1 overall pick at the 2022 NHL Entry Draft at the time of this writing.
Mason McTavish, former first round pick (3rd overall) of the Anaheim Ducks at the 2021 NHL Entry Draft.
Jake Neighbours, former first round pick (26th overall) of the St. Louis Blues at the 2020 NHL Entry Draft.
Ridly Grieg, former first round pick (28th overall) of the Ottawa Senators at the 2020 NHL Entry Draft.
Dylan Guenther, former first round pick (9th overall) of the Arizona Coyotes at the 2021 NHL Entry Draft.
