Team could make a massive move after losing one of their core players.

One National Hockey League reporter believes the time to strike is now.

In a recent report published for the Ottawa Citizen, Senators beat writer Ken Warren analyzed both the positives and negatives of the current situation for the Senators and he believes general manager Pierre Dorion should make a play for Colorado Avalanche forward Matt Duchene.

The move makes a lot of sense for Ottawa, while one could argue that a team in their position should not look to add pieces, it's important to remember that they have been without one of their core forwards in Clarke McArthur for the entire season. In fact the injury to McArthur, one that some have speculated could be career-altering if not career-ending, could make the argument for acquiring Duchene even stronger.

A player like Duchene will cost the Senators a great deal to acquire and Warren believes that former first round draft picks Thomas Chabot and Colin White could be part of a deal that brings Duchene to Ottawa, although it would almost certainly take more than either of those players to make the deal a reality.
