Owning a NHL franchise is no picnic to begin with. Above the hundreds of millions you have under management, you have to deal with personalities and financial threats all the time. If one team has been under the gun for a long while and continues to be, the Arizona Coyotes top the ranking. Rumors sent the team to Quebec, Hartford, Hamilton and Seattle each months in the last four years and it obviously takes its toll.

The Coyotes are owned by a group of investors since the last ownership reorganization underwent a few years ago. According to insider John Shannon, this is about to change as Andrew Barroway will buy out the minority owners to consolidate his status as sole owner.

Why does it matter, you may ask? Well, for one thing it will stabilize the situation in Arizona, with less fighting on the board of directors. However, it could also ultimately lead to an easier transfer of the franchise if it ever happen. Having the endorsement of one owner is a lot easier than a group of minority shareholders, so the rumor mill might spin yet again in Arizona!
