Ironically, they all play on Canadian teams too.
Today is the deadline for teams/nations to add players to their preliminary roster and Team USA is taking advantage.
USA has added Montreal Canadiens defenseman Lane Hutson and Vancouver Canucks forward and goaltender Brock Boeser and Thatcher Demko to their preliminary roster.
There are pretty obvious additions, in my opinion.
I'm not sure if Hutson and Boeser will nail down spots as they have some incredible players in front of them on USA's depth chart, but Demko should absolutely crack the team if he can remain healthy. No doubt that Connor Hellebuyck will be the team's starter, but the backup and third string position are all open to the likes of Demko, Jake Oettinger, Joey D'Accord and Jeremy Swayman. Again, if healthy I would expect Demko to lock up either that backup or third stringer role.
As for Hutson, he has the likes of Quinn Hughes, Charlie McAvoy, Adam Fox, Jake Sanderson, Jaccob Slavin and Zach Werenski all ahead of him. I'm not saying it's impossible for him to crack the lineup, but he'll have his work cut out for him.
Ditto for Boeser, mostly because USA is already loaded with goal scoring wingers.
