Team USA confirms a brutal omission from their Olympic roster

NHL insider Tom Gulitti reports today that Washington Capitals defenseman John Carlson will NOT be on USA Hockey's roster for the upcoming 2026 Winter Olympics.

Gulitti reports that USA Hockey has not asked Carlson to undergo the necessary pre-tournament drug testing and is not in consideration for their final roster.

To be clear, Carlson is 3rd in the NHL amongst American defenseman for points scored this season.

This means that Carlson has outproduced USA locks like Adam Fox, Quinn Hughes and Charlie McAvoy.
