Finland's hockey legend Teemu Selanne had already stated that his 20 seasons career in the NHL was over earlier this year, but some rumors were still around about a 10M$ deal to play for the Helsinki Jokerit. The 44-years-old hockey player told Finni

It’s been nice to lead a life without any schedules, and there’s no place for (playing) hockey in that.”Selanne retires with the 1992-93 Calder Memorial Trophy, the 1998-99 Rocket Richard Trophy, the Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy and the title of Stanley Cup champion of 2006-07 with the Anaheim Ducks. He holds the NHL record for most goals by a rookie (76) and most points by a rookie (132). Through his NHL career, the Finnish Flash scored 684 goals, added 773 assists for a total of 1457 points in 1451 regular games. Selanne also won the Finnish title with Jokerit in 1992, one Olympic silver medal (2006) and three bronze (1998, 2010 & 2014), one World Championship silver and one bronze. He represented Finland in 6 Olympics, tying a record set by Raimo Helminen. Selanne will be eligible to be inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame by the 2017 fall and no one doubts he will get this honor as soon as his name will get to the ballot!
