Teemu Selanne rips California's laws, personally calls out governor Newsom

Look, it's been a season to forget for the Anaheim Ducks. 

The team stinks, they're nowhere near the playoff race and are more likely to find themselves drafting Connor Bedard this summer than they are celebrating a Stanley Cup victory. In fact, let's get real... this team won't be sniffing a playoff race or a Stanley Cup anytime soon. There's much work to be done in Orange County and it'll take more than an offseason to get this team back to respectibility.

So, with the team stinking it up and with no real positive developments on the horizon we simply haven't heard much about the Ducks this year. There simply isn't much to report.

Oh... until Ducks legend Teemu Selanne decided to drop a BOMB on social media earlier this week.

Not sure I had Selanne pegged as a Fox News junkie, but that's besides the point.

Whether you agree with Selanne's assessment or not, he's correct that hundreds of thousands of people are emigrating away from California each year. We haven't yet seen whether or not the state's growing poor reputation has affected its ability to attract NHL players to the Ducks, Los Angeles Kings and San Jose Sharks, but you have to imagine that at least a few players have given things some thought. I believe that state income tax is extremely high in California as well, which would obviously have a negative impact on high value earners like NHL players.

I will say though, personally I LOVE California. I've been fortunate enough to visit California a few times in my life and it's been an absolute joy every time. Don't buy the click bait, rage filled junk out there from outlets like Fox News. Most people I find online who rally against California have never stepped foot in the state and are merely jaded losers looking to drag other people down. Cali rules and I'm willing to bet that Teemu himself would agree with me on that.
