The Carolina Hurricanes enjoy a 2-0 series lead over the New York Islanders, but if they are to advance, they’ll have to do so without a key player in their lineup.
According to reports, Brett Pesce will be missing the remainder of the series with a lower body injury.
He initially suffered the injury during Monday night's Game 2 of the series that saw his team rebound from a three goal deficit to earn a thrilling 5-3 victory, taking a two games to none lead over the Islanders.
According to head coach Rod Brind’Amour, Tony DeAngelo could slot into Pesce's second line paring alongside Brady Skjei. He skated in 31 games for the Hurricanes this season after returning to the organization, scoring three goals with 11 assists.
