This certainly would be a tough blow.
Former Toronto Maple Leafs forward Ondrej Kase, who was Toronto's nominee for the Bill Masterton Trophy in 2022 for his dedication and perseverance to the sport after a series of serious head injuries, may be forced to call it a career thanks to concussions.
According to former Carolina Hurricanes general manager Don Waddell, the head injuries could force him to hang up the skates.
Kase spent his only season with the Leafs in 2021-22, appearing in 50 games and scoring 14 goals. In 258 career NHL games, he's scored 57 goals with 67 assists.
