The Boston Bruins are going to be without the services of veteran defenseman Hampus Lindholm for the foreseeable future, as it was announced that his current status is considered "week to week".
As the Bruins begin their road trip that begins tonight with a matchup against the Edmonton Oilers at Rogers Place, Lindholm hasn't joined them following an incident that took place earlier in the week.
Lindholm suffered his injury during Monday night's victory over the Dallas Stars after his collision with Ty Dellandrea; he wasn't able to continue in the game and soon made his way down the tunnel toward the Bruins dressing room.
“I don’t have anything concrete yet,” Boston Bruins head coach Jim Montgomery said after the game. “We’ll know more [Tuesday].”
Earlier today, it was revealed that while Lindholm will not require surgery, he is considered "week to week".
Lindholm has registered one goal and 18 assists in 56 games, a considerable drop-off from the 10 goals and 43 assists that he racked up last season.
The Bruins take on the Oilers tonight starting at 10:00 PM EST.
