The Canucks get ripped to shreds on social media by former players and insiders!

No mercy for a team who has none!

No one is happy on how the Vancouver Canucks are currently treating head coach Bruce Boudreau. The poor man knows he’s time is up behind the team’s bench because hockey operations president Jim Rutherford has made it clear that he will make a coaching change, he is planning major surgery on the roster and staff, and talks were even made clear that he’s planning to hire ally and former Pittsburgh Penguins assistant coach Rick Tocchet.

Boudreau has to stand there and coach, and answer tough questions while he basically waits for the official announcement that he’s done as the Canucks’ head coach.

On Friday, Boudreau met with reporters - in what could have been his last pregame press conference - and was visibly emotional when asked about his future in Vancouver, or in the NHL for that matter.

The video of his heartbreaking presser went viral as many insiders and former players commented on how poorly the Canucks are treating Boudreau, who remains professional and poise at work.

Former NHL defenseman and Spitting Chichlets’ host Ryan Whitney called the Canucks out, along with top insiders like David Pagnotta, Farhan Lalji and Michael Russo.

Die-hard fans were also very vocal on how wrong the Canucks are playing Boudreau, who will be coaching his 1,086th game in the NHL. Most fans agree with the aforementioned reporters and many more as the trend on the Canucks' lack of respect for Boudreau was trending on social media ahead of tonight’s game against the visiting Colorado Avalanche. They feel embarrassed, angry and ashamed:

Boudreau is in his second season behind the Canucks' bench, coming aboard after a management shakeup in Dec. 2021 when both head coach Travis Green and general manager Jim Benning were fired. After an 8-15-2 start to the season, the Canucks went 32-15-10 to finish the year and missed the postseason by just five points.

Boudreau signed a one-year extension to continue on as coach last May. But it sounds like the end will come for Boudreau before the year is up on his deal...

Shame on you Canucks for the way you're treating Bruce.
