The Vegas Golden Knights are hitting the ice at 4 PM Pacific-time to face off against the Pittsburgh Penguins. It will be the first of three games on the road for the Golden Knights.
Marc-André Fleury will be the starting netminder for Vegas against his former team. It will be the second time that Fleury faces the Penguins in Pittsburgh since he was acquired by the Golden Knights in the 2017 expansion draft. He will be looking for his first win in a road game against his former team.
This game will also be an opportunity for defenseman Jake Bischoff to make his NHL debut at 25 years old. He will play to the left of Deryk Engelland and is definitely a player to watch out for.
Here is how the Golden Knights are projected to line up against the Penguins according to NHL.com correspondent Wes Crosby:
Forwards:
Jonathan Marchessault - William Karlsson - Reilly Smith
Max Pacioretty - Paul Stastny - Mark Stone
Brandon Pirri - Cody Eakin - Cody Glass
William Carrier - Tomas Nosek - Ryan Reaves
Defensemen:
Brayden McNabb - Shea Theodore
Jon Merrill - Nick Holden
Jake Bischoff - Deryk Engelland
Goaltenders:
Marc-André Fleury
Oscar Dansk
Nicolas Hague will be a healthy scratch while Nate Schmidt, Alex Tuch, Zach Whitecloud and Malcom Subban will all be out with injuries. Valentin Zykov is serving a suspension for the use of performance enhancing drugs.
Although it is decimated by injuries to key players such as Evgeni Malkin, Alex Galchenyuk, Nick Bjugstad and Bryan Rust, the Penguins' lineup will feature some serious firepower. Crosby, Guentzel and Letang will all be suiting up for Pittburgh tonight. It should be a very interesting matchup.
