We mat have witnessed the final appearance of 'The Great One'.

The NHL's all-time leading scorer Wayne Gretzky hinted that this year's Heritage Classic alumni game may be the final time he suits up.

According to Sportsnet's Sean Reynolds, Gretzky told reporters Saturday, "That might have been my last game." The Gretzky led Edmonton Oilers alumni lost 6-5 to the Winnipeg Jets legends at Investors Group Field in Winnipeg.

The NHL's all-time leading scorer did not think very highly of his performance.

"I stink. I'm really bad," he said with a laugh at the postgame press conference, according to Sportsnet's Chris Johnston.

The 55-year old legend wasn't much of a factor compared to Jets' alum Teemu Selanne, who tallied five points and converted a pair of penalty shots, including the game-winner.

If this truly is the final game in his career, every hockey fan should take notice and pay respect to the most celebrated player in NHL history.

Thanks for the memories.
