The Jets get some good injury news ahead of Game 6 this evening

Are the Jets moving on tonight? Or are we going to see Game 7?

UPDATE 2: While the Winnipeg Jets will be without the services of Mark Scheifele today, it appears that forward Nikolaj Ehlers will return to the lineup for Game 6 this evening.

From Jets insider Murat Ates:

EDITOR'S NOTE: This is an update to our earlier report on Jets forward Mark Scheifele. For more context, read below.

UPDATE: It's official, Mark Scheifele has been rule out for Game 6 and will not travel with the Winnipeg Jets to St. Louis.

Read below for our earlier report on this developing story.

In case you missed it last night, The Winnipeg Jets managed to secure a 3-2 series lead over the St. Louis Blues with a gutsy victory in Game 5.

Jets forward Mark Scheifele left the game after taking two enormous hits from defenseman Luke Schenn and forward Radek Faksa and did not return to action.

Schenn received a double minor for his hit and Jets fans have been calling for supplemental discipline for Schenn for such a brutal hit.

Check it out:

The thing is, Scheifele continued to play after the Schenn hit and it wasn't until after the Faksa hit that he left the game. Blues head coach Jim Montgomery is using that in defence of Schenn, whom he feels shouldn't be subject to review from NHL Player Safety.

In face, both Montgomery and Jets head coach Scott Arniel got into a war of words of sorts over exactly that:

Well... flash forward to today and it seems that NHL Player Safety agrees with Monty, not with Arniel.

NHL insider Elliotte Friedman reports this morning that there will be NO supplemental discipline coming as a result of last night's game.

Game on. Game 6 should be a doozy.
