Paul Maurice

The moment that Paul Maurice tells his 4th line that they get the final shift in Game 6

I have chills watching this! No wonder players run through a wall for Paul Maurice.

Paul Maurice is now a two-time Stanley Cup champion.

The Florida Panthers' head coach is one of the more popular coaches in the NHL, beloved by both his players and the media. The fans, at least non Panthers fans, are another story...

Maurice made headlines in the Eastern Conference Final after he refused to join the handshake line after defeating the Carolina Hurricanes. Some fans, this writer included, felt it was a self-centered, unsportsmanlike move by Maurice.

To those fans, I implore you to give him another chance and check out the following video.

A mic'd up Paul Maurice tells 4th liners Tomas Nosek, AJ Greer and Jonah Gadjovich that they're going to get the final shift in Game 6 before hoisting the Stanley Cup. In Maurice's own words, it was the 4th line that got them to the Cup Final and they deserved the honor of the last shift.

“I want you 3 guys on the ice when we win this, because we’re down 2-0 against Toronto, and you got us here.”

Check it out:

Oof... how's that feel, Leafs fans?

The Toronto Maple Leafs had this team on the ropes and they were outdone by Nosek, Greer and Gadjovich... ouch.
