The NBA in 2026 is a shadow of its former self

Hockey fans are having a field day on social media today after head coach Steve Kerr of the NBA's Golden State Warriors called for his league to shorten the regular season, as he believes it's too difficult of a grind.

Let me say that again for all you hockey fans: The NBA is so tough that Kerr thinks they should play fewer games.

That's right... the league that already sits out players for "load management" is apparently too tough.

Meanwhile... this is what's happening in the NHL on any given night:

From Kerr himself:

Now... I never thought I'd be saying this, but here's Stephen A. Smith talking dropping some real knowledge:

I mean... what are we even talking about here?

The NBA used to be a physical league. It never approached the physicality of the NHL though, just due to the nature of each sport. But the NBA in 2026 is an absolute joke compared to what it used to be.

To me, Kerr only shows how out of touch he is with his comments. If today's players are bigger, stronger and faster then it stands to reason that they should be more willing and able to compete over the course of an 82 game schedule.

And again to echo Stephen A. Smith... "Do you hear hockey players complaining about playing 82 games?"
