The Oilers have selected the first round pick in 2017!

The Edmonton Oilers have made their pick.

This one was no surprise, the rumors for weeks suggested that the Edmonton Oilers were very high on Kailer Yamamoto, an 18-year-old winger and that is exactly who they selected with the #22 pick in the draft.

Yamamoto is on the smaller side of things, and that is why he fell so late in the first round of the draft, however he has some dynamic goal-scoring ability and has overcome the challenges of his smaller side at every level so far. 

This is somewhat of a gamble from the Oilers, however with the Oilers talented group of forwards, Yamamoto also has an incredibly high ceiling.
