The Nashville Predators welcomed back former defenseman PK Subban this evening, as they hosted the Arizona Coyotes at Bridgestone Arena in downtown Nashville.

Subban surprised most of the hockey world this past offseason when he announced his retirement from the NHL at just 33 years old. In total Subban finished his career with 115 goal and 467 points in 834 games. Over 200 of those games came as a member of the Predators where Subban played from 2016 until 2019. Without a doubt the highlight of Subban's time in Nashville, and for the Predators' organization as a whole, came during the team's run to the 2017 Stanley Cup Final. You may recall that Subban had a Cup Final feud with Pittsburgh Penguins captain and future Hall of Famer Sidney Crosby, which made for an entertaining series.

Remember this?

Crosby and the Pens got the last laugh of course when they ended up hoisting the Cup in Nashville after Game 6.

Subban ended up moving on to the New Jersey Devils in a cost-saving transaction made by Predators long-time GM David Poile.

Still, Subban made an impact during his short time in Nashville and tonight the hometown crowd let Subban know it.

Check out the reaction that Subban gets during tonight's pre-game ceremony:

What's even better is that that the Preds ended up putting together a cool 'welcome back' video which played on the big screeen.

Check it out:

Very classy.

Love him or hate him, Subban was a big part of the Preds' run in 2017 and he's a key figure in the team's all-time biggest moments. Sure, he never filled the role left by the departure of Shea Weber following the 2016 blockbuster swap of the two blueliners, but he played his heart out for the Nashville faithful. That's all you can ask for of any player.
