Jonathan Quick could be on the move once again before Friday as latest reports emerge that the Vegas Golden Knights have had serious talks with the Columbus Blue Jackets about the veteran goalie.
Quick wasn’t thrilled about being moved to Columbus and Blue Jackets GM Jarmo Kekalainen has mentioned that he hopes the team can “do the right thing” for him, which led to new trade rumours.
Fans are still stunned to see that Quick was moved out of LA seeing that we all imagined he would end his career there…
However, Patrick Johnston of the Province revealed that Quick might be the reason why the King moved him, revealing how the veteran goalie informed LA that he wanted to keep playing beyond this season, which made it clear the Kings weren’t going to re-sign him so they got some value for him.
Quick is set to become a pending unrestricted free agent in the final season of a 10-year, $58 million contract with an AAV of $5.8 million.
While he is under the Blue Jackets’s roster at the moment, Quick could end up somewhere else before Friday. Reports have emerged that some teams are looking at acquiring the veteran goalie, with the Vegas Golden Knights being the front-runners to land his services.
This will be one we will watch closely until Friday.
