The Detroit Red Wings and the New Jersey Devil have come to terms on a trade.
Detroit and their fans will likely be happy with this deal, Mike Babcock will finally get the right handed shot defenseman he's been pining for. The Red Wings have traded for defenseman Marek Zidlicky. In exchange Detroit will be giving up a third round pick in 2016, the pick is believed to be conditional but there's nothing official in that regard.
The Red Wings have been looking to add a right handed shot, specifically for their power play, and Zidlicky fits that description. He has 4 goals and 19 assists for 23 points in 63 games this season with the Devils.
UPDATE: The condition on the pick has been confirmed, if the Red Wings make the final it becomes a 2nd round choice in 2016.
