The Carolina Hurricanes have barely had time to celebrate their latest Stanley Cup championship and hockey’s most famous trophy is already showing the effects of the party.

After defeating the Vegas Golden Knights in Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Final on Sunday night, the Hurricanes brought the Cup back into their dressing room for the celebrations that followed.

But a photo circulating online appears to show the trophy already sporting some damage just minutes after Carolina first lifted it that night.

Of course, this is hardly unusual when it comes to the Stanley Cup.

The trophy has a long history of surviving wild championship celebrations, late-night parties, boat rides, pool appearances, and everything else players put it through after reaching the ultimate goal in hockey.

The Cup is currently in the hands of the Hurricanes, who are expected to continue celebrating before their championship parade on Sunday in Raleigh.

And with players still enjoying their Stanley Cup victory, there is a very good chance this will not be the last time the trophy makes headlines this summer.

For now, Carolina fans can enjoy the sight of the Cup with the team, even if it already looks like it has been through a few battles of its own.

After all, a few dents and scratches are just part of the Stanley Cup’s story.
