New details reveal just how battered Dallas was before finally falling in Game 7 to Minnesota.
No one will be able to say the Dallas Stars went down without a fight.
Dallas was ultimately eliminated in seven games by the Minnesota Wild in a first-round series packed with emotion, intensity, and momentum swings. But as more details continue to emerge about the condition of the Stars’ roster, one question becomes impossible to ignore: how did this team even push the series to the limit? Because the reality is staggering.
The Stars were dealing with an almost unbelievable list of injuries throughout the season and playoffs. Tyler Seguin played through a torn ACL suffered in January. Mikko Rantanen battled through an MCL tear suffered during the Olympics. Jamie Benn dealt with both a collapsed lung and a concussion coming out of training camp.
And that barely scratches the surface.
Miro Heiskanen suffered an oblique tear and later a sprained ankle in the playoffs. Roope Hintz dealt with a double hamstring tear that was later aggravated again during recovery. Radek Faksa required surgery after a skate laceration severely impacted his foot function.
The list kept growing with fractures, concussions, groin injuries, shoulder sprains, and high ankle sprains affecting nearly every area of the lineup.
At several moments against Minnesota, Dallas looked physically exhausted. Yet the Stars kept blocking shots, finishing checks, and somehow finding ways to stay alive.
People often talk about Dallas’ offensive talent, depth, or coaching structure. But this playoff run may have revealed something even more impressive: this group is incredibly difficult to break.
They finally cracked in Game 7. But considering everything that has now come to light, simply forcing a deciding game almost feels like an achievement on its own.
