A lot of names have been taken off the board already, but there are still some quality players left available.

We are now officially 10 days into the National Hockey League's free agency period and a lot of quality names have been taken off the board. Many of the top free agents have already signed their new deals but for teams that are still looking to add some quality depth, there are still good players available at nearly every position.

In this article we will be looking at the 3 best forwards still available on the free agent market, and to no one's surprise all 3 are veterans who have long since established themselves in the NHL.

#1 Patrick Kane.

Although injuries clearly took a toll on his body last season, causing his performance to suffer as a result, Kane's skill, experience, and championship pedigree likely make him among the most desired free agents still on the market. There will be questions about his health after a hip resurfacing procedure this summer, but Kane will likely be at the top of the list for teams still looking to add scoring.

#2 Vladimir Tarasenko.

Tarasenko reportedly had a lot of offers at the start of free agency but reports suggest that he either turned them all down, misjudging his market value, or simply waited too long to accept the offers. As a result, Tarasenko has since fired his agent and taken on new representation with JP Barry and Pat Brisson of CAA, two of the NHL's most powerful agents, and it feels like only a matter of time before he chooses his new team.

#3 Tomas Tatar.

In spite of repeatedly bouncing around the National Hockey League throughout his career, Tatar has shown a knack for finding a way of being a valuable depth scoring addition for any team that adds him. He has showcased he can do so with the Detroit Red Wings, Vegas Golden Knights, Montreal Canadiens, and now most recently the New Jersey Devils. At 32 years old Tatar is coming off one of his better NHL seasons with 20 goals and 28 assists for a total of 48 points in 82 regular season games.
