Yesterday marked the end of an era. The Milt Schmidt era.

Milton Conrad Schmidt passed away yesterday and the Bruins honored him tonight as they were playing the Edmonton Oilers in Boston.

Milt Schmidt was the ultimate Bruins, winning the Stanley Cup as a player in 1939 and 1941 and two times as a General Manager in 1970 1972.

Schmidt scored 229 goals and added 346 helpers in 776 throughout his career despite missing 3 productive season due to his service in the second World War.

Rest in Peace Milt!
