After stellar performances in the World Cup of Hockey 2016, Jonathan Toews and Corey Crawford finally make their way back to Chicago as champions with Team Canada.
The World Cup of Hockey hasn’t been organized since 2004 and it will be interesting to see how this impacts the performance of players who participated in the international event.
Some fans might argue that the WCH could have led to injury and fatigue before the official season begins, while others might say that it has sharpened their skills in preparation for the challenge ahead of them. With the return of Jonathan Toews and Corey Crawford we can only hope that they hold unto that momentum to carry the Blackhawks towards another Stanley cup victory.
*Although Corey Crawford played a small role in the WCH, his absence from the Blackhawks during the preseason was felt.
