Once again hockey insider Bob McKenzie has broken as major trade, the third one of the day. The L.A. Kings and Carolina Hurricanes have come together to make a trade, and Carolina's highly sought after blue liner Andrej Sekara has been taken off the board. In exchange Carolina will receive both a first round draft pick and 19 year old prospect Roland McKeown. Roland McKeown, a right handed shooting defenseman, is currently playing for the Kingston Frontenacs, he has 4 goals and 20 assists for a total of 24 points through 54 games with the OHL club.   Sekara on the other hand has been the subject of several trade rumors this season, it was believed Carolina would have preferred to keep him, but could not come to terms on a dealwith the 28 year old defenseman. Sekara had 2 goals and 17 assists for 19 points in 57 games with Carolina this season.   It's easy to see why both teams made the deal, Carolina gets a young defenseman and a 1st round pick, both things that currently carry tremendous value in the NHL. L.A. on the other hand just filled a huge need, one that was created in large part by the domestic abuse allegations against Slava Voynov and this will certainly help their attempt to make a push for the playoffs and potentially another run at a Stanley Cup.
