This is how much alcohol costs at the Olympics

A new report is giving fans a look at alcohol prices at the Milan-Cortina Olympics, and fans quickly compared to some North American arenas. Let’s just say the numbers may actually seem reasonable.

The selection, however, is limited. Unlike many NHL venues that offer a wide range of domestic and craft options, Olympic fans reportedly have just one beer choice: a Mexican pale lager, 310ml bottle of Corona priced at €7.

Beyond beer, fans can purchase prosecco and spritz cocktails ranging between €7 and €9. For outdoor venues, mulled wine is available for around €6 , a fitting option for chilly winter competition nights.

While no one would call those prices “cheap,” they’re noticeably lower than what fans often pay at major NHL arenas. At venues like the Montreal Canadiens’ Bell Centre or the Toronto Maple Leafs’ Scotiabank Arena, drink prices can climb significantly higher for similar or even smaller servings.

So the question becomes: would you pay €7 for a beer at the Olympics?

For many international events, fans expect premium pricing. But compared to the sticker shock in some North American rinks, these Olympic prices might actually feel like a small victory.
