Ben Stelter is amazing and so inspiring.
Five-year-old Ben Stelter stood on the ice next to his favourite Edmonton Oilers player ahead of Thursday night’s game before puck drop against the visiting San Jose Sharks.
And his bravery and inspiring story pushed the Oilers to get the 5-2 win in a very important and tight race to the postseason in the West.
The young boy is so brave and inspiring because he was diagnosed with a brain tumour one year ago, and has already gone through 30 radiation sessions as well as four rounds of chemotherapy to get rid of the tumour.
He will face another round of radiation next week, but got to spend an unbelievable evening with his heroes. But you know he is the real hero here. He stood next to captain Connor McDavid during the Canadian national anthem before puck drop and even sat on a question and answer period with Oilers forward Zack Hyman.
To hear his little giggle and the excitement in his voice on his experience at the game is priceless:
However, we all know that the night was most special for the Oilers, who got the win for Ben and were inspiring to never give up like the little man shows them how to do every time he enters treatment.
What a great story.
