This may not be the end of James Reimer in Toronto.

Some very interesting comments from the former Leaf.

If there are fans in Toronto who are dissapointed at the departure of goaltender James Reimer today it's perfectly understandable, after all Reimer truly elevated his game in Toronto, so much so that he departs as the teams all time leader in career save percentage. That stat is particularly impressive when you understand just how bad of a team he was backstopping at times.

There is some good news though, because it certainly doesn't sound like Reimer is shutting the door to the possibility of a return to the Maple Leafs, and after his conversation with TSN's Mark Masters there can be no doubt that if the Leafs want him next season, he's open to the idea. Masters asked him if he could envision a return to Toronto as a free agent next summer and this was his response.

"It's definitely an option," said Reimer as per TSN's Mark Masters. "It's a special place and I have a lot of great memories here and a lot of good friends. Who knows what's going to happen, it's a long time in the future and we'll cross that bridge when we do. As for right now I'm looking forward to putting on a Sharks uniform."

It certainly doesn't sound like a "NO" to me.
