The Philadelphia Flyers finally won a game after it went into a shootout when they defeated the Detroit Red Wings 2-1.
Thanks to Michal Neuwirth's 30 saves performance and Jakub Voracek's shootout goal, the Flyers are still climbing the standings.
For Philly, winning in Detroit is a rare thing. Since the 1989-1990 season, the Flyers are 3-17-2 in Detroit.
The Flyers came back on Claude Giroux 13th goal of the season and almost won the game with less than 2 seconds remaining, but Wayne Simmonds apparently interfered with Wings' Petr Mrazek.
Philadelphia is now two points behind a playoff spot with 3 games in hand on the Montreal Canadiens who keep falling in the standings every day.
