Thomas Chabot proves that NHL players are the toughest in pro sports

The Ottawa Senators have announced that defenseman Thomas Chabot will return to the lineup for tonight's game against the Florida Panthers.

For the record, Chabot broke his arm just 16 days ago...

Chabot underwent surgery to repair a broken forearm suffered from a cross check by New York Rangers captain JT Miller on March 23rd and was originally expected to be out of the lineup for 8 weeks. Now, he's back just over 2 weeks later.

Insane...

If this were the NBA or the MLB, there's no way we'd be seeing Chabot back in action until the calendar reads 2027 at the earliest.

"It went a lot faster than expected," Chabot told reporters today. "A lot of work with our medical staff, I'm lucky. Obviously best case scenario and I'm just happy to be back. Basically broke my arm, as simple as that... underwent surgery and obviously the healing process went a lot better than we all expected. A couple plates and screws and here we are..."
