An interesting waiver wire today.

Three players have found their way onto the waiver wire today, and while two of the moves are no surprise at all, one does stand out a little bit more.

The first name on the list belongs to Florida Panthers center Grant McKegg who is struggling to find his groove at the National Hockey League level. It's beginning to look like the American Hockey League may be where his skill set will land him full-time.

Up next is Nashville Predator Cody Bass who after nine games with the Preds this season looks like he may also be headed for a long stay in the AHL. Bass has no points this season, boasts a plus minus rating of -1, and has been a liability for the Predators with 19 penalty minutes to his name.

It's another Predator however who's name comes as somewhat of a surprise, defenseman Matt Carle. Carle played an important role in Tampa Bay's run to the final last season and has seemingly played at a solid enough level through the six games he has appeared in for the Predators this season. Carle is certainly a quality depth defenseman and it wouldn't be shocking to see him claimed by teams in need of help on defense.
