Three players have hit the NHL waiver wire today:

Wayne Simmonds - F - Toronto Maple Leafs
Zach Sanford - F - Nashville Predators
Magnus Hellberg - G - Seattle Kraken

Nothing new for Simmonds and Hellberg, who have both been on waivers several time this season. In fact, Hellberg has been claimed twice (or maybe three times!?) so far this season, bouncing back and forth between the Seattle Kraken and Ottawa Senators. He's now back on waivers and I can only assume that Sens GM Pierre Dorion is on the phone with Gary Bettman right now.

As for Simmonds, he's unlikely to get claimed as he's been up for grabs a few times already this season. Personally, I'd love to Simmonds catch on with another team so that he can get back on an NHL roster.

Sanford has played eight games for the Preds this season, putting up a goal and an assist. He's just a few seasons removed from a 16 goal, 30 point performance in56 games with the St. Louis Blues though and could attract some interest around the league as a depth forward option. If in fact he does get claimed, he'll suit up for his 5th team in just two seasons... yowza. The 28 year old has played for the Blues, Senators, Winnipeg Jets and Predators since the 2020-21 season.
