UPDATE: A quick update to last night's rumor report on Los Angeles Kings forward Phillip Danault: NHL insider Pierre LeBrun reports this evening that the Montreal Canadiens, New Jersey Devils and Utah Mammoth are all in discussions to acquire Danault ahead of this weekend's roster freeze.

From LeBrun for TSN's Insider Trading segment earlier today:

Among the teams that have called, Montreal, New Jersey, Utah; all the teams you can think of that need help at center have obviously checked in.

According to multiple online reports, veteran forward Philip Danault has requested a trade from the Los Angeles Kings.

The NHL's annual roster freeze goes from December 20th until the 27th and Danault is reportedly hopeful to be moved before then. The Kings though are willing to be patient and wait for the right offer.

The 32 year old Danault is in year 5 of a 6 year deal that pays him $5.5 million per season. He has just five assists through 29 games with the Kings this season.
