While many reporters are coming to Montreal, surprised to see the early success of the Canadiens this season, there was another reason to watch them practice on Thursday when Tie Domi was present to see his son Max in action. Of course, the media frenzy began as reporters were looking forward to know how the former National Hockey League great felt about his son's success so far this year.

"Just the opportunity and the way everyone's treated him here, from the owner, Geoff Molson, Marc Bergevin, Claude Julien, Kirk Muller, Luke Richardson and all the trainers, all the coaches and teammates. They've all been amazing," explained Domi. "He's happy every day and the fans have been amazing to him."

Domi has noticed that Max has been on a roll early on in the 2018-19 campaign, ever since he was traded from the Arizona Coyotes in return for forward Alex Galchyenuk. It is a new start for the 23-year-old, who was selected in the first round, 12th overall by the Coyotes back in 2013. And Tie Domi had no issue making brutal comments about his son's past and the team that drafted him five years ago.

"Nobody chooses where you get drafted, where you play and where you get traded to," Tie told reporters, per TSN. "When you have players on a team in Arizona – (Chris) Pronger, (Pavel) Datsyuk [and] now they got (Marian) Hossa – to get to the floor, you don't really understand that kind of stuff. He's a kid.
"Now he's understanding it. He's on a real team in a real market and it's exciting to see him taking it all in. But at the same time, he's taking it a day at a time. He's a positive kid and it's good to see him with a smile on his face and the team having a lot of success right now."

He sure told it like it is.

It remains true. The Canadiens have won four of their first six games this season, and winning was not something the Coyotes managed to do a whole lot when Max was in the desert...

"He cares about winning," Tie added. "When you're out of the playoffs before Christmas three years in a row, coming off three Memorial Cups in London and the World Juniors, it's a tough pill to swallow for anybody."

Let's see how far Max and the Habs will go this season, however, one thing is clear: Tie Domi is happy his son is now in a REAL market...
