Tkachuk, Greig, give DeBrincat a rough welcome back to Ottawa.
The Ottawa Senators welcomed back Alex DeBrincat in rough fashion on Saturday afternoon.
Detroit Red Wings forward Alex DeBrincat is back in Ottawa for the first time since many believed he forced a trade out of Ottawa this summer and to his hometown Detroit Red Wings, and he is getting the kind of welcome you would expect given the context.
It's been a rough start to the afternoon for DeBrincat who was first welcomed back in not-so-kind fashion by Senators captain Brady Tkachuk, who gave him a piece of his mind after an early scrum between the two sides during the game's opening period.
Here it is again from a different angle:
Unfortunately for DeBrincat, another former teammate in the form of Ridly Greig had more than just words to share with him during the opening period, leveling him with a big hit in the corner. Unfortunately for Greig and the Senators however, the officials also gave him two minutes for roughing on the play.
Surely we have not seen the last of the fireworks in Ottawa today.
