Tkachuk guarantees that the Panthers will win the Stanley Cup tonight

The Florida Panthers can wrap up the Stanley Cup Final with a win on home ice this evening after failing to get the job done in Game 4 last Saturday evening. 

Despite a blow out loss to the Edmonton Oilers in Game 4, the Panthers are still feeling confident heading into tonight's matchup, in fact they're so confident that forward Matthew Tkachuk has offered up a 'Mark Messier'-like guarantee.

From Tkachuk earlier today during gameday media availability:

"We have a chance to go capture the biggest goal of our lives tonight. And we're gonna go do that."

For those not in the know, Messier famously guaranteed a win over the New Jersey Devils in Game 6 of the 1994 Eastern Conference Final. Messier would score a hat-trick in that game, leading his team to a 4-2 victory and a berth in the Stanley Cup Final against the Vancouver Canucks. The Rangers would win the Cup seven games later in one of the most entertaining Stanley Cup Finals in NHL history. Now, Tkachuk is hoping to tap into some of that 'Messiah' energy for tonight's potential Cup victory.
