Cayden Primeau made it happen on Wednesday night. The 20-year-old goalie made 35 saves in his second start as the Montreal Canadiens defeated the Ottawa Senators 3-2 in overtime to get his first NHL win.

It is expected to be a moment Primeau will never forget, he who was also awarded the first star of the game at the Bell Centre and received a standing ovation from the crowd.

Naturally, like any hockey player, Primeau wanted to keep the puck of this important moment of his young career, but he almost did not manage to get it.

After Ben Chariot scored the game-winning goal, Senators forward Brady Tkachuk collected the puck at the back of the net as the Habs celebrated the win. He skated to the team’s dressing room with it, but veteran goalie Carey Price was keeping an eye on him and made sure Tkachuk did not pull the classless move on his teammate.

In the video below, you can see Tkachuk collecting the puck from his net. Then, Price heads over to Primeau to congratulate him and then you quickly see him skate over to Tkachuk, where we found out he got the precious puck back.

Asked after the game whether Tkachuk was trying to steal the puck, this is what Price had to say:

"I think so. I was watching to see what happened to the puck and just saw him scoop it up.”

Forward Brendan Gallagher wasn’t not surprised that Tkachuk would pull something like that.

For his part, there is no doubt in Brendan Gallagher's eyes that this is exactly what Tkachuk, one of the worst pests in the league, was trying to do:

“Of course he was,” Gallagher said when asked the same question.

Classless, Brady. We don’t even think your father would have pulled this move…
