Toews tells it straight about the Olympics!

As you probably know, Gary Bettman and the NHL decided to skip on the next winter Olympics. Players have different views on the subject, but overall the consensus seems to gravitate around a general disappointment. 

Jonathan Toews was a center piece of the 2014 gold conquest for Canada. It was obvious that he participated for the purity of the sport and he most likely was looking forward to this next occasion to bring the gold medal home. However, it doesn't look like it will happen in a near future. 

His comment says a lot about his disappointment. 

Interestingly, he doesn't speak in individual terms. He speaks about the game in general and the need to keep growing it. With a chance to perform in South Korea in 2018, the NHL had a clear opportunity to open a new market in Asia and Toews understands it very well.
