It was said earlier today that the Seattle Kraken might be planning to make some roster moves. Later on Friday evening, the Kraken acquired veteran winger Tomas Tatar in a trade with Colorado, sending a fifth-round draft pick in the 2024 NHL Draft back to the Avalanche.
The team confirmed the transaction moments later:
Tatar is 33 years and was a coveted free agent this season, and only signed a one-year contract with the Avalanche late in the offseason, on September 12, 2023. In 27 games with Colorado, Tatar registered a goal and nine points, ranking tied for 10th on the team in points.
The veteran forward skated in his 800th career game on Nov. 22 vs. Vancouver.
