This is a big one.

With Jonathan Drouin going public with his trade demands one would expect every general manager in the National Hockey League to be on the phone to at the very least inquire about what it would take to acquire the young forward.

It appears at least one powerhouse contender, the Montreal Canadiens, is seriously considering the possibility of acquiring Drouin, although the price for such a transaction is certainly going to be very high.

According to CTV's Brian Wilde that price would at the very least have to include two of the following three players: Jarred Tinordi, Michael McCarron and Nikita Sherbak. That won't be all, Wilde also added that the Lightning would also ask for a roster player, and Wilde believes Lars Eller or Nathan Beaulieu would fit the bill, although he did state that he does not believe Habs GM Marc Bergevin would be willing to trade Beaulieu.

It seems like a very, very steep price for a player who despite how high he was drafted has failed to consistently crack an NHL roster, whether it be due to performance or injuries, but if Bergevin believes this is the move that will make his team a legitimate threat to win it all this season, he may pull the trigger.

Would you?
