Golden Knights may be forced to make a change, here is what it will look like.
The Las Vegas Golden Knights may be forced to make a change to their lineup ahead of Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Final, but it doesn't sound like it will be a voluntary one.
On Saturday, Golden Knights head coach John Tortorella was asked about the status of veteran defenseman Brayden McNabb ahead of Game 3 with Tortorella refusing to provide any clarity in that regard.
"No update" said Tortorella in a tone that made it clear he would not take any questions about McNabb.
Tortorella did however comment on the fact that he was confident in his team's depth should it be necessary to replace McNabb for Game 3.
"We feel very comfortable with our D." said Tortorella. "You get to the 4th round you gotta tap into that, so we're very comfortable."
McNabb suffered a serious looking injury in Game 2 when he was struck in the face by a puck, with the puck appearing as though it struck him directly on the bridge of his nose. You can see a close up of the impact just below:
Although there has been no official update in regards to any roster changes from the Golden Knights, ESPN's Greg Wyshynski believes that Kaedan Korczak is the man likely to get the call on Saturday night.
Wyshynski was asked directly if he believes Korczak will be in for Game 3 and revealed that the Golden Knights are playing coy about his status for Game 3, likely what has led to his suspicions about the player.
Korczak did appear in 3 games for the Golden Knights during the Western Conference Final against the Colorado Avalanche and had a strong showing in all 3 of those games. Whether or not he can replicate those performances against the Carolina Hurricanes will remain to be seen.
