Tortorella responds as only he can when asked about players who won't stand for the anthem.

Earlier today newly acquired Boston Bruins' forward David Backes chimed in with his thoughts on the big controversy in the National Football League surrounding quarterback Colin Kaepernick's decision to sit during the American national anthem and now one of the league's coaches is doing the same.

According to a report from ESPN's Linda Choen, Columbus Blue Jackets head coach John Tortorella was asked about the situation with Kaepernick and never one to disappoint he answered in true John Tortorella fashion.

"If any of my players sit on the bench for the national anthem, they will sit there the rest of the game."

Much like Backes earlier today Tortorella appears to be on the more patriotic end of things when it comes to his belief that everyone should stand for the national anthem. It's worth noting that neither man really commented on the nature of Kaepernick's protest but focused instead on the way he went about making that protest, something that has been a very common response to anthem-gate.
