The summer has been hard on Carey Price. As you know, it’s been reported that he suffered a training setback and may miss the entire 2022-23 season, if he isn’t forced to retire and end a 15-season NHL career. Last season, Price did return to action in April, after missing the entire 2021-22 season up until that point upon checking himself into the NHL’s Player Assistance Program, as well as rehabilitating from offseason surgery. For his combined efforts, Price was awarded the Bill Masteron Trophy for his perseverance and dedication to hockey. But unfortunately, it’s been looking like Price’s career could be over: the veteran goalie was scheduled to meet with a doctor in July, but the appointment was cancelled. Habs GM Kent Hughes then announced that Price would be unlikely to play in the upcoming 2022-23 season, casting a shadow of doubt over his future hockey career.

This had no just in impact on the fanbase but also on standings. And on Monday, it was revealed that Price was officially out of the Top 10 Netminders in the league per the NHL Network.

This is the first time in Price’s career he does not make the standings… That had to be hard on the veteran goalie who will have to come to realize that his career in his the books.

The question now will be: will he be inducted one day into the Hockey Hall of Fame?
