The Boston Bruins had fun over the holiday break - well, except for a short while when goalie Jeremy Swayman and Jakub Lauko got stuck in an elevator on the way to defenseman Kevin Shattenkirk’s on Christmas.
Both Swayman and Lauko posted the mishap on their Instagram stories when it happened, and the post went viral over the break.

It appears that the mishap ended well with the short story showing Swayman laughing in surprise as he sat with his legs stretched out on the elevator floor. He took this opportunity to wish his supporters a Merry Christmas during his extended wait.

Lauko then shared a final update on this unbelievably funny incident the next morning, when he mentioned how his goalie cried a bit as they waited to be rescued. Don’t worry, though, the forward said he gave him a goalie hig to calm him down:

“we’re fine, sway was crying a little but I did give him a goalie hug.”

We don’t know how long the duo were stuck in the elevator or who rescued them, but it does not look like the netminder and young center will be missing from the Bruins’ lineup for tonight’s matchup as they face the Sabres in Buffalo later today.

Swayman was quite busy over the Christmas break as he also put on a Santa Claus costume to surprise the kids of his goaltending partner Linus Ullmark. On Christmas Eve, Swayman made his way over to Ullmark’s house for their “family” tradition and this was posted on social media:

“Swaynta Clause, making core memories where he goes,” Ullmark wrote in his Instagram caption. “Our family’s favorite tradition nowadays! Thankful for this wonderful person. Love you kompis!”

It is so easy to understand how these two get along so well and why it is a known fact across the league that the Bruins are quite a tight-knit group.
