TRADE ALERT: Chicago makes some cap space.

The Chicago Blackhawks have made some space under the salary cap. They traded today, Kris Versteeg, Joakim Nordstrom and a third round draft pick in 2017, to the Carolina Hurricanes.

In exchange, The Hawks receive Dennis Robertson, Jake Massie and a 5th round pick in 2017.

Jake Massie: The Hudson native, Quebec, scored 11 point in 14 games with the Junior Boston Bruins. He is 18 years old and was selected in the 6th round by Carolina.

Dennis Robertson: At 24, Robertson just finished his first full professional season with the Charlotte Checkers of the AHL. He scored 3 goals and 14 assists over 57 games.He was a sixth round selection by the Toronto Maple Leafs in 2011.
