The two Original Six franchises swap a forward for a defenseman.
This just in, the Toronto Maple Leafs and Chicago Blackhawks have pulled off a minor deal swapping minor leaguers Kurtis Gabriel and Chad Krys.

The Leafs acquire the 23 year old Krys who has 15 points in 64 AHL games with the Rockford Icehogs, including one assist in eight contests this season. The Ridgefield, Connecticut native captured a bronze medal with the United States at the 2016 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championships.
As for the Blackhawks, they receive 28 year old Gabriel a career minor leaguer who has managed just 49 career NHL games split between the Leafs, San Jose Sharks, New Jersey Devils and Minnesota Wild. It's expected that he'll join the IceHogs in the AHL.
